State flags at half-staff for officer who died from 9/11-related illness

Flags on state buildings were at half-staff Thursday, in honor of fallen retired Senior Investigator Nicholas Georgeadis. 

The Wilton resident died last week from an illness stemming from his assignment at the World Trade Center site after 9/11.

Calling hours for him are Thursday night from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care in Saratoga Springs.

The funeral is Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Albany.

Georgadis is survived by his wife and three children. He was 52 years old
