State police issue 100,000+ tickets during impaired driving campaign

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee says impaired driving crashes increased 11% from 2020 to 2021.
During the latest “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, more than 2,800 people were ticketed for impaired driving.
The crackdown campaign ran from August 19 through September 5.
Officers also issued 100,000 tickets for other vehicle and traffic law violations, including speeding and distracted driving.
Here’s a breakdown of the violations:
Impaired Driving: 2,823
Distracted Driving: 1,383
Move Over Law: 685
Seatbelt: 4,113
Speeding: 23,646
Other Violations: 71,077
Grand Total 103,727
