State seeing rise in vehicle thefts

More cars are getting stolen, Gov. Hochul said.

The DMV helped New Yorkers recover 231 stolen vehicles in 2022 – valued at more than $7.3 million.
The agency also tracked down 81 stolen parts, worth more than $67,000.

In comparison – 2021 saw 194 cars recovered, worth $5.2 million.
