Stefanik asks feds for help cleaning up from July’s severe weather
There’s a call for help from Saratoga County to the New York State Capitol and Washington.
Rep. Elise Stefanik is urging the state and the feds for help, as neighbors in her district continue to rebuild after July’s devastating storms.
Stefanik is urging Gov. Kathy Hochul to request a presidential disaster declaration to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for widespread flooding on July 10.
Stefanik recently joined a letter with members of New York’s Republican Congressional Delegation. They’re asking the Biden administration for a presidential disaster declaration for the July 16 storms.
FEMA could help communities pay for a massive amount of debris removal plus sheltering and search and rescue.
Several tornadoes and microbursts left a trail of destruction across Upstate New York that day. People in
Saratoga and Warren counties were left with serious damage to their homes and properties and power was out for days.
Any requests for federal assistance must be submitted within 30 days.
