Stefanik’s nomination advanced to full Senate
Stefanik's nomination to be UN ambassador advanced to full Senate.
North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has moved a step closer to becoming the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations voted Thursday morning to advance Stefanik’s name to the full Senate for confirmation.
Stefanik served in the House of Representatives for 10 years. She was first elected in 2014 and re-elected to her sixth term last November. She is giving up that seat.
She is going to be in the district on a farewell tour this weekend with stops in Schuylerville, Plattsburgh and Ogdensburg.
