Stillwater man charged for not showing up to court following substances, stolen property charges

Zachary B. Barry, 35, of Stillwater was arrested on December 12 on a bench warrant by Halfmoon Town Court after not showing up to court for a variety of charges including substances and stolen property.

The warrant was from an incident that allegedly happened on December 21, 2022, which Barry was accused of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, reportedly stolen out of Colonie, said the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say he is also accused of having controlled substances unlawfully at that time. They say he had been released on his own recognizance after the arraignment for these charges.

Authorities say Barry was charged with second-degree bail jumping when he was apprehended on December 12, 2024, when he failed to appear in court on the required date or within 30 days of being released from the original charges.

The original charges were third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, said police.

Barry was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
