Suspect in hit-and-run that seriously hurt UAlbany student due back in court

The man accused of striking a UAlbany student is due back in court on July 1. Austin Breyette will stand in front of a judge.

The man accused of striking a UAlbany student is due back in court on July 1.

Austin Breyette will stand in front of a judge.

Breyette is accused of speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, when he struck Alexa Kropf on Hudson Avenue in Albany just before midnight on April 26.

Kropf, 19, continues to make progress in her recovery. She has been at a rehabilitation center closer to her Long Island home since leaving Albany Medical Center on May 23.

Breyette has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and tampering with physical evidence.
