Troy Police investigating fatal crash on Oakwood Avenue
Troy Police Department Detectives are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that happened in the southbound lane of Oakwood Avenue on Saturday evening.
Three people were seriously injured and one fatal was reported from the crash, said police.
Troy Police say the investigation has determined that a northbound-traveling vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a southbound vehicle.
The passenger of the northbound vehicle, Sally Rickli of Waterford, died after the crash, said police.
Both drivers sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Troy Police wants to extend their appreciation to Troy Fire, RPI Ambulance, NYS Police, North Greenbush PD, Troy Dept. of Public Works, Troy Traffic Dept., and Dept. of Public Utilities.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. There is no indication that speed or alcohol/drug impairment were involved, said Troy Police.
