Officer Justin Byrnes was responding to a 911 call for a domestic disturbance, when his police SUV collided with another car in February 2023.
Byrnes was traveling nearly 90 mph, when he went through a red light at the intersection of Hoosick and 15th streets.
The crash killed Sabeeh Alalkawi, 30, who was a pizza delivery driver.
The lawsuit was filed back in October on behalf of Alalkawi’s family.
