Two arrested in Rensselaer County for drugs following separate search warrants

Two people in Rensselaer County are facing drug charges after two separate search warrants within 24 hours.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeffrey Shaw, from Yonkers, after searching a home on classic street in the Village of Hoosick Falls.
Authorities say they found crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials, and more than $1,300 in cash.
Shaw is being held in the Rensselaer County Jail without bail due to a previous felony drug conviction.
Friday morning, deputies continued their drug investigation on 4th Avenue in Troy, which led to the arrest of Asjmere Powell.
Deputies say he had heroin laced with fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and a loaded handgun.
He is also being held in jail without bail.
