Police testing food items after BOCES students got ill

Police testing food items after BOCES students got ill at Saratoga Springs BOCES.

Saratoga Springs Police sent food items out for testing Friday after five people got sick at the same time at a culinary class at BOCES.

It happened at the F. Donald Myers Center on Henning Road. Paramedics and police got involved after four students and a teacher got sick after eating an item that had been baked in class.

Police haven’t ruled it out that someone intentionally added an illegal substance to the food.

Two of the affected people were treated at Saratoga Hospital and released.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 that the students are cooperating with their investigation.

A cleaning company is going to do a deep cleaning on Monday and Tuesday, and they anticipate returning to their regular classroom on Wednesday.
