Vermont man admits to trying to commit sex acts on 11-year-old child
A Vermont man admitted Wednesday to traveling to Albany for sex acts with an 11-year-old child.
Investigators say back in 2019, David Lavigne was texting someone he thought was the mother of an 11-year-old girl, but was really an undercover cop.
They say Lavigne expressed a desire to the “mom” to perform sex acts with the child.
Lavigne also admitted to several child porn-related crimes – some involving pictures of infants.
Investigators say he was actually a registered sex offender before these new crimes, because he sexually assaulted someone under 10 in Vermont.
He now faces up to life in prison when sentenced in December.
