Vermont man faces charges after fire alarm leads to seizure of marijuana, mushrooms
A Vermont man is facing charges for allegedly having large quantities of psychedelic mushrooms at a Saratoga Springs residence.
The arrest stems from a call reporting a fire alarm going off at a residence back on June 25. When police and firefighters responded, they saw marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms in plain view.
They contacted detectives and a search warrant was obtained for the property. Police seized 589 grams of mushrooms, 170 pounds of cannabis and 75 pounds of concentrated cannabis.
A tenant of the residence, 34-year-old Daniel P. Mooney, recently turned himself in. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of cannabis.
