Vietnam veterans honored on 50th anniversary of start of troop withdrawal

Gov. Kathy Hochul has declared Wednesday, March 29 Vietnam Veterans Day.
Wednesday marked the 50th anniversary when U.S. troops first started to withdraw from Vietnam.
Veterans of that war are being honored with ceremonies across the country, including here in the Capital Region.
Hochul has directed landmarks across the state to be illuminated green, yellow and red.
More than 4,000 New Yorkers died during the war.
An estimated 207,000 Vietnam War veterans currently live in the state.
