Warren urges DOT to scrutinize JetBlue and Spirit merger
Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren is urging the Department of Transportation to use its full authority to scrutinize the potential merger of JetBlue and Spirit Airlines.

Warren sent a letter to Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
She points out, the four largest airlines – American, Southwest, Delta, and United – control 80 percent of the domestic market, through a series of airline mergers.
She says that has reduced quality and increased fares, and has contributed to the increase in delays, cancellations, and involuntary rebookings.
