Watervliet police sergeant honored at service

A procession was held for a member of the Watervliet Police Department who passed away unexpectedly last week.

Sgt. Marc Langlais died Wednesday after nearly two decades of service for Watervliet Police and to the city.

The service took place at the Parker Brothers Funeral Home.

The procession passed the Watervliet Police and Fire Departments, and then went to the Albany Rural Cemetery.

Langlais joined the department in July 2004. He was described as hardworking and compassionate.
