Their homes are being broken into.
Police say the Asian American community is being targeted once again in the Capital Region – this time in Colonie.
“Our victims unfortunately have had large amounts of cash and jewelry at the homes,” Lt. Anthony Sidoti said.
There have been three burglaries at the homes of Asian American business owners. The victims live off of Central Avenue, Albany Shaker Road and Watervliet Shaker.
The businesses and the homeowners have been pretty scattered. There hasn’t been any identifiable pattern,” Sidoti said.
No suspects have been arrested.
These types of burglaries also happened back in February .
“We have no proof that they are being followed home from their business, but we do believe that there is some type of counter surveillance where the burglars know that they’re not home at the time they commit the burglary.”
