The number of hats donated to the annual Hatsgiving campaign is at 58,000 and counting.

Hatsgiving provides soft, warm hats for children who have lost their hair while battling cancer.

It was started in 2012 by Jeremy Wernick of Latham, when he was just 8 years old.

The hats are still being counted. When they are done being counted, they will be sent to 90 hospitals across the country. That includes 900 for Albany Medical Center.
