Lifeworks is life saver for those in need in Saratoga County
Lifeworks Community Action, which used to be known as Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, is holding its big annual fundraiser at Universal Preservation Hall on Friday, May 24.
Billed as the Saratoga summer kickoff event, it’s called In-Bloom and features dinner, drinks and dancing to Garland Nelson and Soul Session.
For the first time, in addition to traditional adult beverages, there’s a non-alcoholic elixir bar.
Lifeworks helps people make ends meet. They provide vital food through their pantry in Ballston Spa, and even deliver to those who can’t get there. Lifeworks offers a soup kitchen, runs a Head Start program and provides clothing to kids and families.
They said they also provide important mentoring and life skills training, so people can move out of poverty. There has never been a greater need for their services.
Friday evening’s gala begins at 6 p.m. at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs. There will be dinner, drinks, and a silent auction.
NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland will serve as master of ceremonies.
