The city of Glens Falls planted a Sugar Maple tree at Sagamore Street Park on Friday morning.
The sugar maple is New York’s official state tree. Arbor Day has been celebrated across the country since 1872.
It’s traditionally celebrated on the last Friday in April but can be marked at any time and is dependent on the growing season.
