The Downtown Gloversville Corridor asked for photos with optimistic views of the city and Paula Brown-Weinstock is the winner of the contest with a picture of the sun setting over Fulton Street. There were 13 entries and Facebook users chose this one. Brown-Weinstock wins a gift certificate to a downtown Gloversville business and chose Craving’s Bakery & Cafe.

Playhouse Stage Company musical

Percy Jackson is coming to Cohoes. Playhouse Stage Company will present the regional premiere of the hit musical “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” featuring the advanced teen students of the Playhouse Stage Academy training program. It will be staged at Cohoes Music Hall from April 13 through April 23. The cast features 18 of the area’s most talented teen performing artists. Playhouse Stage Academy graduates have regularly gone on to study in top collegiate theatre programs, and to appear on Broadway, in national tours and on film and television.

Easter egg hunt for dogs

Easter weekend is for the dogs at Hudson Crossing Park just outside Schuylerville. An Easter Egg Hunt for dogs takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Plastic eggs filled with treats from Lazy Dog Cookie company will be hidden throughout the park, waiting for curious pups to find them. Eggs will be replenished by park volunteers throughout the weekend and primarily hidden in the park’s play garden area and along the Sensory Trail, giving people scenic views of the Hudson River while dogs are looking for eggs.

Glens Falls Wing Fest

Who has the best wings in Glens Falls? Find out Saturday, April 29th at the Glens Falls Collaborative’s annual Wing Fest. It’s from noon to 3 p.m. in Downtown Glens Falls. There will be live music and a hot wing eating contest. It’s a competition between restaurants for the best wings, with multiple categories of winners.
