The Capital Region knows how to enjoy the snow. NewsChannel 13 received a ton of photos – including a show shark from the Faddegon Family in Niskayuna and a photo showing 29 inches of snow on Skyline Drive in Delanson. We even got a video of a deep snow dive from Jack in Knox!
Young artists’ work on display in Albany
Young artists have their work on display right now inside the Empire State Plaza concourse. There are 1,300 pieces are on display, created by students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The students are from 17 school districts. There’s a reception Thursday to congratulate the student artists. This is National Youth Art Month.
Saratoga Springs’ role in women’s history
It’s also Women’s History Month. The Capital Region played a big role in the fight for women’s suffrage. You’re invited March 30 to learn the story of Matilda Joslyn Gage – and how she helped Susan B. Anthony during a big speech at a women’s gathering in Saratoga Springs in 1854. An author and historian will detail how Saratoga Springs played a part in all of this.
YouthBuild Schenectady grad gets $2,000 scholarship
Congratulations to Sevell Graham – a graduate of YouthBuild Schenectady. He just won a $2,000 scholarship as he earns his bachelor’s degree in psychology. YouthBuild is a non-profit that helps young people build skills for leadership.
