Fun teacher appreciation challenge at Lansingburgh school
Turnpike Elementary School in Lansingburgh is celebrating “Teacher Appreciation Week” – with a game put together by the school principal.
The teachers spin a wheel and get a challenge. The challenge for one teacher was to contact the news and bring a news team in to talk about this. That’s where we came in. The school contacted NewsChannel 13 – and we were happy to answer. Thank you to all the teachers out there.
Capital Roots spring plant sale
Capital Roots in Troy is hosting its annual Spring Plant Sale this Saturday, May 13. Donated plants will be for sale, and the proceeds go to Capital Roots Mission, which is to provide healthy food access to the Capital Region. The event raised $8,000 last year in just a few hours. The plant sale starts Saturday, May 13, 9 a.m. at Capitol Roots on River Street in Troy.
Pittsfield Cleanup Day
Pittsfield Cleanup Day is Friday, May 19, and 200 people have signed up. It’s a day when teams come together to clean up parts of downtown Pittsfield.
Teams from Berkshire Bank, The Berkshire Museum and The Berkshire Theater Group are among the dozens of businesses taking part.
