Cohoes Police welcome new officer
Congrats to the newest member of the Cohoes Police Department. Officer James Hilton is transferring from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office – and is set to start field training. The fire department is celebrating a series of promotions – Captain Coonradt, Captain Marra, Lieutenant Bullock, and Lieutenant Erickson.
Pasta fundraiser for South High Marathon Dance
Enjoy pasta and help raise money for a good cause. The Wilton Fire Department is hosting a fundraiser for the annual South High Marathon Dance. It’s this Friday, Feb. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30. South Glens Falls High School students will be your servers and the fire department is donating the meals.
Takeout is also available.
Shen volleyball teams recognized by state leaders
Congratulations to the Shenendehowa girls’ and boys’ volleyball teams. Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh honored them this week at the state Capitol for winning championships in both girls and boys volleyball. The girls team beat Lancaster High School to claim their title. The boys team won the crown with a win over Webster High School. This is the first state championship for both teams.
Voorheesville 9th graders make cards for Teresian House residents
A sweet connection between young and old. Grade 9 class officers in the Voorheesville School District organized a special delivery to the Teresian House to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. Students put their hearts into making cards to show their admiration for the older generation.
