Ballston Spa robotics team heads to state competitions
The Capital Region has a rich tradition of robotics teams. Students at Ballston Spa High are getting ready to put their robots up against some of the best in the state. The school’s FIRST Robotics Team is heading to the Finger Lakes Regional Tournament at RIT next weekend and then the NY Tech Valley Competition at the end of the month at MVP Arena. We wish all the local teams good luck this season!
Kelly’s Angels shirts designed by Shen students
When Kelly’s Angels, the organization that helps kids who’ve lost a parent to cancer, holds its annual Mother’s Day run-walk in the Saratoga Spa State Park, the shirts they give out will be designed by students at Shenendehowa High School. Each of the students in Joanna Butterfield’s graphic design class spent the last few weeks coming up with their design for the shirts and for a flyer. They presented them on Friday, and now the Kelly’s Angels board has the difficult task of choosing which ones to print. Kelly’s Angels was started by NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland, in memory of his wife, Kelly, who died of cancer.
