Women honored for advocacy to Greene County veterans
State Senator Michelle Hinchey honored Veterans Service Agency Director Michelle Romalin Deyo for her longstanding advocacy of Greene County veterans and first responders, and her service to our country. Hinchey recognized her on the Senate floor. Romalin Deyo is an Air Force Veteran, who served as a Munitions Systems Specialist. She has helped thousands of veterans and their families in obtaining VA benefits.
Saratoga Springs theater offers scholarship to graduating senior
Home Made Theater in Saratoga Springs wants to help a graduating senior who wants to pursue theater as a performer or on the technical level. HMT is giving a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who will pursue courses in Theater Arts. The student needs to have demonstrated an active interest in theater.
Trout Day at Grafton Lakes State Park
Grafton Lakes State Park is hosting its annual Trout Day, during school Spring Break on April 11. The DEC will be providing trout to stock Long Pond and Second Pond. Trout Day is for all ages. It will include trout shaped treats, crafts and educational booths highlighting the wonders of trout. Children under the age of 16 can learn to fish after the stocking.
Capital District Reptile Expo coming on May 7
If you like spiders and snakes – or other sorts of exotic pets – then plan to be at the Albany Capital Center on Sunday May 7. Hundreds of different species of reptiles, amphibians, aquatics and small exotic mammals will be on display from 160 vendors. Organizers offer hands-on opportunities.
