Troy’s Vanderheyden preparing for 190th anniversary celebration

The non-profit provides services to people who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.
It also assists people with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities, among other services.
It opened its doors in 1833 as Troy Orphan Asylum and is one of the oldest child welfare organizations in the country.
The celebration is at the Vanderheyden Bessey Home on Spring Avenue in Troy.
