Friday marked five years since a State of Emergency was declared in New York due to COVID-19.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared that emergency.

In those five years, New York has seen 6.7 million cases of COVID on the books, and 77,000 recorded deaths from the virus.

Dr. Daniel Pauze joined Steve Kuzj and Subrina Dhammi on NewsChannel 13 Live at 4.

He said they had a bit of warning since they saw what was happening in China.
