Police: Woman injured in crash on Troy Schenectady Road after driving while impaired
A woman was injured when her car rear ended a vehicle that was stopped at a red light in Colonie Saturday morning, while she was impaired, police said.
The crash happened at around 7:06 a.m. in the area of Troy Schenectady Road (also called Route 7) and Vly Road when the car driven by 30-year-old Adriana Malone of Fort Hunter rear ended a car at a stoplight driven by 30-year-old Ricardo Lopez of Cohoes, police said.
Malone sustained an unknown number of internal injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center by Colonie EMS.
Lopez was shaken up but refused any medical treatment, police said.
Malone was issued an appearance ticket for driving while impaired by drugs and other vehicle and traffic charges are pending, police said.
All but 1 lane of traffic was shut down but have since reopened.
