Siberian artist Mikhail Bopposov has marked the new year with a massive sculpture of a rabbit, made entirely from frozen manure.
Bopposov built the sculpture as part of an annual tradition inspired by Chinese zodiac symbols.
The sculpture is traditionally placed in the center of the settlement of Uolba, in Russia’s coldest Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This year, Bopposov made his sculpture beat drums with the help of a tricky construction of drum sticks, ropes and manure.
Bopposov said he started the sculpture in mid-November.
Over the past 12 years, the artist has sculpted all symbols of the eastern horoscope.
Last year, he created a family of tigers.
