Troy man gets over 2 years in prison for gun thefts
A Troy man who is a member of the Suicide Squad motorcycle gang was sentenced in federal court on Monday to 2 ½ years in federal prison for stealing guns from the Glenmont Walmart.
Michael C. McDermott, 30, had pleaded guilty in October to weapons charges. He admitted to forcing his way into the store back in May 2022. He then smashed a display case and stole five shotguns and one rifle, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Employees chased him and he pointed a firearm at them.
McDermott was also sentenced to three years of post-release supervision.
