Cohoes students collect Hudson River data for DEC
Cohoes City School District students worked with SUNY students to learn about rivers in a hands-on way. The students collected and shared data with the Department of Environmental Conservation.
The students went to Peebles Island in Cohoes and collected data on the Hudson River.
They shared their results with the DEC and learned about the Hudson River estuary in the process.
Students collected dissolved oxygen, turbidity and velocity of the river water. They also caught some fish.
The record was set by two students each catching 28 fish.
