A former inmate is making a difference in his community by working to keep kids in Albany on the right track.
Dontie Mitchell prides himself as a beacon of hope through his organization, Money Gang Youth Group.
Mitchell spent 25 years in prison and found his purpose in working with youth.
He strives to provide adult support to keep vulnerable young people away from violence.
Three days a week, he spends time in the community teaching youth about the importance of school.
Mitchell says with funding from the government, together they can build a community where dreams flourish and futures are rewritten one step at a time.
Meet some of the kids the program is helping by watching the video of Tiffany Payton’s story.
