Advocates are pulling out all the stops in their quest for free school lunches to be included in the next budget.
Lawmakers and advocates have been making this push for weeks. However, kids joined them at the state Capitol in Albany on Tuesday.
Federal waivers that provided free school meals expired in June.
The state has a program that provides free breakfast and lunch to students, but it is based on eligibility.
Advocates want to see universal free lunches in the budget.
