Live Around the 518: Shen superintendent proud of students’ accomplishments
The Shenendehowa Central School District in Clifton Park is the biggest Capital Region school district.
The district will have 9,334 students this coming year. It also has a teaching staff of 769 and a total staff of 2,179, which makes it one of the biggest employers in Saratoga County.
The superintendent since 2005 has been Dr. Oliver Robinson.
“We have had students graduate from Shen doing some great things,” said Robinson. “I think it kind of goes with the expectation of this community, where we invest in the community, and part of our responsibility (is) to ensure that we utilize those investments.”
Robinson added that it’s important for the school district to have a good relationship with the community, along with being able to grow and evolve.
“I think that’s one of the things that we try to do as a school, try to anticipate where things are going, what opportunities we could have for kids, how can we as a school be a litmus or the impetus, if you will, to attract things, so our kids can have better opportunities,” said Robinson.
