NY Board of Regents bans all indigenous-related mascots

The New York Board of Regents has officially banned all images and names for school mascots related to indigenous people.
The board voted Tuesday morning on the issue. It has been in the works for several months now.
Some districts have already replaced or altered their mascots.
Others are still in the process.
With this vote, the change will become effective on May 3.
