Program from Dolly Parton inspiring Capital Region kids to read
A new partnership in Schenectady encourages kids to have a lifelong love of reading.
United Way of the Greater Capital Region, and Schenectady County Public Library have partnered up to launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The Imagination Library is a program from The Dollywood Foundation. It inspires kids to read by mailing them free books every month.
This has been in the works for a while, and more than 5,000 local kids are already signed up, according to United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
