Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is working to expand the reach of federal work study.
She introduced the Head Start For Our Future Act.
It will allow college students eligible for federal work study to work at early childhood education programs.
Included in those programs are Head Start and Early Head Start.
The bill aims to help the ongoing staffing shortages in early childhood care, and offer interested college students the chance to engage with child care work.
