Albany man gets 15 years in prison for 2021 fatal shooting
An Albany man was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison for a 2021 shooting.
Nicholas Anderson, 30, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court in March to first-degree manslaughter.
Anderson killed Rashad Nicholson on July 24, 2021, in the area of 3rd and Oak streets in Albany. He also possessed an illegal, loaded firearm.
Anderson was initially charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, but pleaded guilty to the manslaughter charge.
The sentence will run consecutively to another prison term he’s currently serving.
