Hochul declares state of emergency statewide for Debby’s remnants
Gov. Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency across all of New York state, as the remnants of what was once Hurricane/Tropical Storm Debby move through.
The Capital Region saw heavy rain and gusty winds, along with some minor flooding. However, other parts of the state have been hit even harder, with lots of flooding.
The State Emergency Operations Center in Albany has been activated, said the governor, with around 7,200 utility workers ready to restore power.
Swift water rescue teams have also been brought in, along with tons of other people and equipment to help with cleanup.
